Manufacturing Process Engineer. The Manufacturing Process Engineer
will be responsible for the manufacturability of all products
transferred to operations with a focus on process reliability,
process control, and defect reduction. Equipment downtime
reduction, process monitoring, engineering technician/manufacturing
technician process instructions and electrical/mechanical
documentation will be assigned according to expertise and
experience.Process Stability and monitoringNew Process and
Metrology DevelopmentProcess improvements & Engineering Change
ControlAll documentation and specificationsDefinition and
implementation of statistical process controlsAll equipment process
recipes and traveler stepsMetrology Calibration, Gage
R&RTraining for Operators or Technicians in the assigned
areaDirect inspection, measurement & testing of product as
requiredRaw material qualification and verificationCorrective
actions assigned to the engineering group.Equipment Maintenance
(Preventive, Routine, Corrective)Direct interface to equipment and
material suppliers.Duties and responsibilitiesDevelop and
characterize processes to support new product introductions to
manufacturing Define and implement process controls and defect
reduction plansDefine and execute tool start-up and qualification
plansProvide sustaining support for each process and disposition
all non-conforming productDesign and execute experiments to improve
yield, reduce cycle time and reduce costs.Drive investigation into
tool or process related issues that impact defect control
plans.Training of Process technicians in proper tool checks,
operation, data collection, process inspections / measurements, and
abnormality recognition and safetyDirect inspection, disposition of
product and operation of process equipmentRelated projects and
tasks as assigned
Requirements:
QualificationsAbility to conduct technical investigation of complex
process and equipment issues, generate creative solutions, and
implement improvements with an understanding of process
impactsExperience with process yield improvement, cost reduction
activities, designing defect reduction plans, and equipment cost of
ownershipExperience with equipment start-ups and process
development in a high-volume, low-cost manufacturing
environmentAbility to write clear, concise specifications and work
closely with manufacturing personnel to ensure complianceGood
Interpersonal and communication skills and ability to interact
directly with the customer in a technical capacity if
required.Provide technical leadership to equipment and process
technicians to determine root cause and corrective actions for
hardware, process and product abnormalities.Ability to methodically
manage and control changes to the product or process and document /
track the resultsSpecific Skills RequiredMust have previous process
engineering experience in a high volume, automated manufacturing
environment. Biotech, Microelectronics, or Packaging experience
required.Direct experience with set-up, operation and maintenance
of high-volume, automated assembly equipment.Must have strong
background in process control and be able to work closely with the
product integration engineers to meet customer expectations.Strong
electrical design skills preferred including design of new
equipment, drafting of wire-lists, schematics, and
rewiring/redesign of existing productsEducation / Experience
LevelMinimum: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or
Robotics engineering or related fieldMinimum 1 year of
Manufacturing ExperienceWorking conditionsWork will require
part-time exposure to cartridge manufacturing spaces which require
proper PPE such as gowning, shoe covers, hoods, masks, gloves, etc.
Peak work-loads occasionally require greater than 40 hour work
weeks.Physical requirementsMust be able to lift up to 50
