sourcing for Data Engineer to work in Durham, North Carolina or
Westlake, Texas.
The Role
We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer with a passion for
delivering high impact operational and analytical customer data
solutions that integrate across a large organization. In this role,
you will build and modernize our Unified Customer Profile (UCP)
platform. You will ensure the core data components of our platform
seamlessly integrate with our enterprise-wide Universal ID
initiative (UID). You will apply a variety of cloud-native (AWS and
Snowflake) technologies to develop innovative frameworks and tools
that facilitate data management for our platform and set us up for
long-term success. This position is a critical element to
delivering Fidelity's promise of creating the best customer
experiences in financial services.
The Expertise and Skills You Bring
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology related field (e.g.,
Computer Engineering, Computer Science, etc.)
Desire and ability to learn and implement new technologies
Keen ability to see complex challenges from multiple perspectives,
and leaning in to solve independently or with others
Knowledge of how to effectively use multiple types of databases
such Relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, etc.), NoSQL
databases (DynamoDB, Elastic search) and Graph databases (Neptune,
Neo4J, etc.)
Hands-on experience building scalable, resilient, and
cost-effective data products (preferably on AWS and Snowflake)
Thorough understanding of Data Vault and Dimensional modelling
concepts
Demonstrated experience developing, debugging and tuning complex
SQL statements, PL/SQL packages & procedures
Knowledge of Messaging Technologies (Kafka, Kinesis, SNS, SQS)
Experience with DevOps or CI/CD Pipelines using Maven, Jenkins,
uDeploy, Stash, Ansible, etc.
Ability to validate, monitor, and solve issues during development,
testing, or in production
Ability to work effectively in global teams distributed across
geographic locations in an Agile way
Excellent communication skills, both through written and verbal
channels
Proven knowledge of AWS via Associate, Professional, or Specialty
Certification(s) a big plus
The Team
You will be joining the Platform Maturity team with the vision to
create the infrastructure and frameworks necessary to accelerate
UCP's cloud adoption and to optimize core capabilities that will
enable scalability, efficiency, and speed-to-market for adding new
features to the platform. UCP is a critical platform to Fidelity
and the impacts delivered via the work that the Platform Maturity
team does will significantly enable our business partners across
the firm.
