Our Digital Capability team is looking for solution-based engineers with a passion for developing easy-to-use, customer focused capabilities which power Fidelity's platforms. The Purpose of Your Role The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining existing mainframe capabilities and support migration of capabilities off mainframe to cloud. You will contribute to the entire development lifecycle from concept to deployment as a member of an agile, cross-functional team. The Expertise we're Looking For Strong programming skills and proficiency in Mainframe technology components including COBOL, DB2, VSAM, CICS.Comfortable to be a self-starter, who actively challenges status-quo, is curious and not afraid to ask "Why" and "What if"?Are experienced with the tools of the trade including a variety of the latest programming languages and frameworksStay on top of Algorithms, Data Structures and Design Patterns and love the challenge of building highly scalable systems that can support thousands of transactions/sec.Data driven and can measure, collect, and use data to make decisions. We understand the value of intuition and the need to balance decisions accordingly.Have strong communication skills and technical expertise to drive and participate in discussions.Experience with architectural patterns of large, high-scale applications. We believe in applying the right technology depending on the challenge and are always exploring new technologies to continually provide value to our customers.Ability to blend development with testing by participating in quality efforts. We consider software quality is ensured through prevention rather than detection The Skills You Bring Strong working experience in COBOL, JCL, DB2, VSAM, MVS, Endevor, ISPF, TSO, CICS, Control-M, and basic IBM utilities.Exposure to JAVA / J2EE, and web service application developmentExperience in Agile methodologies (Kanban, SCRUM)Knowledge of cloud computing environmentsExcellent collaboration skills to work with multiple teams in the organization globally.Strong team player and able to mentor junior team members. The Value You Deliver Digital Capabilities team in Personal Investing (PI) supports applications and tools that provide capabilities like Saving Plans (529), Contribution/Distribution Services, Cash and Payment Services, and Checks/ACH Management for Fidelity's retail and workplace customers.
