Role Description
The Head of Poultry Marketing is responsible for leading all
marketing efforts for in-line and new product launches of
pharmaceutical and biologic brands and service offerings primarily
targeted to Corporate key customers in all segments of the Poultry
industry. They will supervise a team of several marketing
professionals and will be a member of Poultry Leadership Team. In
addition, they will have responsibility for key therapeutic areas
of the business unit's sales and have operating expense and profit
and loss (P&L) financial responsibility for the Poultry brands.
As a member of the Poultry Leadership Team, this leader will engage
in decisions that affect the entire U.S. and Global Poultry
Business and may from time to time take on additional
responsibilities for cross business functions and new business
opportunities.
The Head of Poultry Marketing will have proven leadership qualities
to facilitate interactions among diverse teams, strong analytical
skills, and demonstrated ability to be collaborative to develop
marketing and business strategies including aligned execution
across sales and technical service colleagues and platforms.
Responsibilities include overseeing the development and
implementation of marketing, business and brand strategies and
leading the three-year rolling operating plan process and new
launch planning for new product brands and services relative to the
segments. They will also coordinate with Research and Commercial
Development on lifecycle plans and strategies to ensure a robust
pipeline of new products and line extensions. Also, leading the
growth, development, coordination and execution of our digital data
analytics platform to continue to gain predictive customer
insights, brand prediction/preference analytics and outcomes
research for key corporate poultry customers. Have responsibility
for the development and talent planning of colleagues within their
reporting structure. Needs to have or develop relationships with
key stakeholders within the Poultry industry.

Key Accountabilities:
Leading the Business

- Collaborates with fellow Leadership Team members of Poultry and
other business unit members across Zoetis to cultivate a culture of

the impact of their work on company success.
- Drives the performance of the P&L by ensuring key brand
revenues, profit margins and expenses are optimally managed.
- Develops and delivers the three-year strategic and financial
operating plan Poultry.
- Develops and executes the strategic marketing plan, segment
plans and the associated brand plans for the vaccine,
pharmaceuticals, service offerings, bio-devices and automation
(data offerings, educational services) which will deliver
performance expectations and drive company growth.
- Communicates to and collaborates with all parts of sales,
technical and commercial operations as well as support centers of
excellence to ensure complete alignment of business strategy and
execution at customer level.
- Collaborates with Business and Commercial Development to
facilitate the acquisition and development of new market-focused,
compounds and products/services.
- Leads the brand and segment commercial lifecycle planning
efforts to ensure new data and formulations, optimize lifecycle of
existing brands, launch new products/services.Leading People
- Leads, coaches and develops a team of marketing colleagues
responsible for all aspects of the Poultry business' marketing
mix.
- Coaches and directs Marketing colleagues in developing
comprehensive marketing objectives, strategies and plans and in
identifying and including key stakeholders throughout the
process.
- Assesses and coaches individual and team performance to exceed
business goals.
- Defines and provides ongoing developmental opportunities for
marketing team
- Fosters an environment where coaching and feedback is open,
ongoing and consistent.
- Communicates, leads and collaborates a culture of Diversity and
Inclusion within the marketing team and across Zoetis.
- Leverages talent and resources across the marketing team,
across Business Unit and throughout Zoetis.
- Maintains and continues to bring new talent into the marketing
organization.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
- BS /BA and relevant experience required. MBA preferred.
- 12+ years of related experience and a proven record
demonstrating increasing responsibilities and success in brand
management, strategy development and communications.
- High sense of urgency, coupled with a demonstrated ability to
exercise good judgment and make sound decisions based on relevant
info.
- Strong financial analysis skills and proven ability to develop
and manage budgets and expenses.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in developing
and executing brand strategies, programs and tactics to achieve and
surpass market share and revenue targets.
- Demonstrated ability to lead colleagues, to be a both team
player and coach.
- Ability to organize, prioritize and oversee complex,
cross-functional projects that require input from many internal and
external stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail and
problem-solving skills.
- Strong oral, written and interpersonal communications skills;
strong negotiation/persuasion and presentation skills.
- Possesses in-depth knowledge and expertise in marketing
disciplines; brand management; market research; communications
strategy; customer insight; and marketing material
development.
- Strong IT skills (MS Office and ability to learn Zoetis
systems).
- Ability to interact with/influence Senior Management and peers
with confidence and conviction.
- Leads change, having a substantial impact on the Business
Unit.
- Ability to travel to internal and external meetings,
conventions, tradeshows, and customer interactions (> 30%).
- Preferred location is Durham, NC, but the role can potentially
be located in the Delmarva region, the Midwest, the Southeast or
the Southwest. Travel to Durham HQ is required at least twice a
month.
