Strategic Marketing and Brand Communications (2103540) - RTP, NC Where the Chemistry Happens As Strategic Marketing and Brand Communications for the BASF Agricultural Solutions division in North America, provide strategic direction and executional oversight for marketing communications programs for key businesses, including U.S. Crop, Seed Treatment and Seeds & Traits, supporting demand creation, marketing, brands and company reputation. Interface with key management in the region and with the global function to drive strategic measures across brands, ensuring successful outcomes tied to business goals as well as increased recognition and awareness of the BASF brand. Oversee the selection, development and periodic evaluation of key agency consultants. As a key member of the APN Communications department, lead and support overall communications programs to build the BASF brand and reputation across channels, messages and audiences in North America.Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalentFormula for SuccessOversee creation of strategy, approach, timelines and metrics for marketing communications plans to deliver on marketing goals for the divisional BASF Agricultural Solutions North America brand, and individual businesses (US Crop, Seed Treatment, Seeds & Traits) brands and products. Oversee creative development and advertising to drive differentiation for BASF among competitors and ensure brand standards (global and regional).Determine marketing mix based on customer segmentation, buyer journeys, CX research and channel deployment across a variety of tactics, possibly including the resulting tools/tactics including digital communications vehicles, print, broadcast, trade shows, direct marketing, news releases, and other promotions.Lead targeted campaigns utilizing internal and external customer segmentation data to drive targeted outcomes to create demand for BASF products with a high degree of emphasis on digital marketing communication methodologies, including email automation, social media and websites.Partner with internal departments and external agency resources to deploy communications programs, integrating with marketing and demand creation efforts, including public relations events, employee engagement, etc. Lead selection and management of relevant agency resources, responsible for budget management and effective operations.Lead project teams for key cross-functional marketing communications topics, establishing metrics, reporting and excellence.Manage a team of strategic marketing communications professionals to deliver on business goals, driving profitable growth. Drive regional leadership for best practices in marketing communications and customer insights.Drive tracking and management of department KPIs, reporting, as well as efficiency and quality improvement projects.Counsel senior executives on best practicesLead marketing communications development for regional upcoming product launchesHigh level of autonomy and decision-making responsibilityWill need to drive strategic approaches, as well as often be responsible for tactical execution.Individual will need to assess business situations and recommend appropriate direction. Successful marketing communication programs that would include campaign statistics, improved website traffic and search engine results, as well as improving internal efficiencies and productivity. Overall results should be tied to core business financial metrics. Ingredients for Success Bachelor's degree in communications, business, marketing, or similar. Master's degree a plus, but not required 10+ years of experience in marketing communications, advertising, public relations or similar, developing and implementing programs that deliver impactful results. Experience in agency, corporate or mix of settings. Agricultural industry experience a plus, but not required. Experience managing external vendors or agency partners. Some team leadership desired. Expert-level knowledge of marketing communications theories and tools, as well as the ability to deliver "hands-on" work product. General understanding of digital marketing principles and campaign management and tactics Strong project management principles, experience and track record of success in marketing and/or communications.
