growth, Spiffy is looking for an experienced, motivated accounting
and finance professional to join our team as the Assistant
Controller. The Assistant Controller will work closely with the
Corporate Controller and CFO. This individual will have a track
record of successful project management and a history of driving
process improvements that enable scaling with future growth.DUTIES
AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Lead the internal and external financial close
processes, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of
financial reportingReview and prepare journal entries, account
reconciliations, and schedulesResearch accounting standards and
serve as an accounting subject matter expert on technical matters
including business combinations, share-based compensation, lease
accounting, etc.Assist with the preparation of annual financial
statements and disclosures, including cash flow statements,
supporting schedules, and footnote supportProvide training,
supervision, and technical resources to the accounting teamAssist
with the evaluation, development, and implementation of accounting
policies and proceduresWork cross-functionally with other
departments to evaluate and improve processesAssist with accounting
and finance-related systems implementationsManage independent
audits and tax compliance, including income, sales, and property
taxAssist with the preparation and analysis of budgets and
KPIsPartner with key stakeholders in other departments to help them
understand financial resultsMaintain relationships with vendors,
customers, franchisees, shareholders, and other departments in the
company to consistently deliver superior customer service and
support company initiativesAssist the Corporate Controller and CFO
with capital expenditure decisions, financing, M&A activity,
and other special projects, as requiredQUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's or
Master's degree in accounting or financeCertified Public
AccountantMinimum of 6 years of relevant accounting experience,
including at least 3 years of public accounting (audit)
experienceSome relevant industry experience is preferred
(technology and services, automotive, franchising, manufacturing &
distribution)Strong understanding of GAAP and financial
reportingStrong understanding of technical accounting topics such
as ASC842 (Leases), ASC606 (Revenue), etc.Experience with NetSuite
is preferredExcellent attention to detail and critical thinking,
communication, computer and technology, and project management
skillsPositive attitude and ability to collaborate
