For more information visit ILCDover.com and follow us on LinkedIn.Position Objective:The Operations Manager is accountable for effectively operating the plant, insisting on safe and responsible operation, guarding the high quality expected by its customers, developing a high-performance production staff and meeting the production and cost targets of the company. While the Operations Manager has oversight for a specific location, the expectation is that he/she contributes and actively participates on global issues and when necessary, and acts as a representative of the Company to outside organizations (local/state/federal agencies, customers, etc.). Essential Responsibilities:Ensures plant meets all regulatory requirements (safety, environmental, quality) through the development, maintenance, implementation and documentation of plant wide systems in these areasResponsible for the on time, on schedule production and shipment of product as defined by supply chain Collaborates with Quality, Supply Chain, Customer Service, Engineering, and Finance to ensure effective supply chain systems are in place to continuously improve service to the customer, reduce cost and increase cash flow; including maintenance of bills of material, routings and work instructions, and optimization of production order scheduling and system transactionsDevelops and improves organizational/individual capability through the development of strong employee development plans, training plans and training matrix, succession planning, and performance coaching; responsible for maintaining a collaborative and productive relationship with the workforceEnsures constant management of costs to budget, ongoing productivity improvement programs, proactive utilization of tiered daily management, operational excellence tools and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement within the operations; ensures all levels of the production staff understand/control their personal impact on the plant's financial performance through clear expectations, setting goals, performance tracking and coachingEffectively communicates and motivates production staff to achieve facility and Company goals; encourages collaboration across all functions and levelsEnsures equipment operation and the facility are maintained and meets safety, quality, and regulatory requirements while continuously improving to meet business/customer requirements and financial targetsEnsures the effective operation of the warehouses and shipping areas including efficient material flow, appropriate storage conditions, managing inventories, on-time and accurate shipments to customers and attainment of other key distribution metricsWorks collaboratively with customers, Quality, Marketing/Customer Service, logistic companies, etc. to meet service, cost, regulatory and quality expectationsWorks collaboratively with non-manufacturing functions and other network manufacturing sites on a daily basis *This job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS/SCOPE:The Operations Manager reports to the Executive Vice President, KSE and directly manages the production staff. The incumbent works collaboratively across all functions and levels of the organization. The Operations Manager also works with outside supplier, agencies, auditors and customers as appropriate. Budgetary limits will be set annually by the Executive Leadership Team.
