manufacturing performance, Drive the business to improve
performance in a sustainable manner and bring transparency into
financials (focus on ERP improvements in order to get better data
transparency on both actual result as well as result
predictability/ business outlook. This position reports toGlobal
ELDS Division CFOYour responsibilities
- Strategy Planning and Implementation: Contributes to the
definition of the strategy for the division. Serves as the key
partner for the relevant business leader in determining strategy
for area of responsibility, aligning with wider strategy,
implementing, and making adjustments in implementation as needed.
Maintains constant contact with relevant other managers and finance
community regarding financials, market and customer situation and
its outlook. Align the implementation of the Global Division and
Division Hub strategies to Integration plans including footprint
optimization and further ERP road map enhancement. Ability to
support product management on continuous product portfolio pruning
process.
- Business Planning and Forecasting: Translates strategy into
business plans and establishes measurable targets. Oversees the
business planning and forecasting process for the area of
responsibility and serves as the interface to Division Hub/GPG
Managers. Evaluates financial implications of various strategic
decisions build scenarios and recommends actions. Challenge and
drive the optimization of project costs for various integration
activities - Footprint, R&D, Product Management etc.
- Business Performance: Monitors progress achieved and provides
insight and analysis to support operational decision-making.
Identifies issues and advises management on action plans and
operational strategies to resolve. Drives appropriate cost
structure, productivity optimization, and capital efficiency.
Manages and closely monitors the cash flow and takes action to
improve Net Working Capital. Supports and implements transfer
pricing according to Global Guidelines.
- Financial Reporting: Establishes and oversees processes and
tools necessary to obtain transparent and reliable financial data
and business information. Ensures high quality of financial data
and business information in line with defined standards and
financial closing schedules. Enforcement of country and Global
Division specific finance directives and instructions, enforcement
of Group Accounting and Reporting Guidelines.
- Internal Controls and Compliance: Ensure compliance with
Sarbanes Oxley [SOX], US GAAP and all ABB policies. Taking the lead
in sustaining the alignment with Accounting Policy, Internal
Controls and Assurance. Share functional best practices and lessons
learned across the ABB organization. Ensures transparency in
financial reporting and disclosures.
- Operational Excellence: Supports driving operational excellence
across manufacturing site(s) through target setting and monitoring
(benchmarking if applicable). Supports driving overall
productivity, delivery performance (ROTD) and cost optimization all
in cooperation with Division Hub management. Supports driving cross
functional collaboration and process improvement such as with
shared service centers, support (customer) services, etc. Strong
knowledge in ERP enhancement arena to further drive ERP system
enhancement in order to get transparent data out of the system to
support business decisions ( costing, routings, structure of ERP).
Strong support for product managers in order get clarity on product
lines performances
- OHS and Integrity: Supports ensuring a safe working
environment, continuous HSE improvement processes and integrity
performance. Personally live the ABB values and Group
standards.
- People/Staffing leadership and Collaboration: This role
requires collaboration and coordination with various stakeholders.
Ensure that the area of responsibility is organized and understands
his/her role in driving the strategy and providing financial
transparency. Supports the Country and the Global Division to
create, cultivate and develop talents and capabilities and review
effectiveness. Key attribute for success is to continue building
strong local division finance teams in all countries within the
HUB.
- Risk management: Assesses business risk exposure related to
business activities and defines risk mitigation strategies to
reduce impact on business performance. Ensures risk management
processes are consistently implemented. Identify and communicate
commercial and financial risks and opportunities from business
propositions.
- Occasional travel within the US and MX will be required (15%).
Your background
- A Bachelor's degree in business administration, finance or
accounting is strongly preferred; an equivalent combination of
education and experience will be considered..
- 10+ years of experience, or alternatively, a special
combination of education and experience and/or demonstrated
performance and results; in the areas of business, finance,
operational controlling and/or accounting.
- Strong knowledge of ERP system settings (costing, system
flow/routings) and functioning and ability to lead ERP enhancement
teams.
- At least 3 years of experience as a Finance Head of a large
unit.
- Strong financial manager structured and results oriented leader
with strong analytical and operational controlling skills.
- Change management experience
- Relevant international experience and cross-cultural
communication skills
- Business oriented mindset to support business development
- Strong Microsoft Office/computer skills and strong SAP
knowledge/experience (CO/FI) preferred.
