Triangle Park, NC or Lubbock, TX preferred) Where the Chemistry
HappensThe Global Seeds Supply organization is responsible for
supplying seeds for a superior grower experience and a sustainable
future.The group includes areas such as Supply Chain, Procurement,
Performance Excellence and Business Systems, Production Technology
and Innovation, Wheat Supply, Master Data, Quality and EHS,
supporting the Global Seeds & Traits Organization. This role will
design, develop and deploy a value driven quality strategy to
continually improve Seeds product, processes and material quality
in alignment with the business objectives (strategy includes
vision, plans, measures, approaches, tools, methods, timelines,
expected results) within Seeds Supply.Increase product and material
quality, reduce operational costs associated with poor quality and
process complexity, and reduce risks.Reduce risk by implementing a
systems and process approach to improving the overall quality of
materials and products and increasing the consistency of meeting
regulatory and internal standards as well as continually improving
customer satisfaction.Reduce the complexity of the current business
model by developing a simplified approach to creating material
quality requirements, communicating, and training employees, and
measuring the organizations effectiveness at meeting the quality
standards.StrategyDesign, develop and deploy a quality strategy to
continually improve Seeds product and material quality in alignment
with the Seeds business objectives, BASF corporate and AP.
(strategy includes vision, plans, measures, standards,
requirements, procedures, approaches, tools, methods, timelines,
resources, and expected results)QMSEnsure compliance with ISO
9001(Brazil), QMS requirements, regulatory seed quality
requirements (Domestic and International) and BASF policies and
directives related to Seed processes and products. Develop global
requirements and associated procedures in order to facilitate the
implementation of a QMS by Seeds Supply colleagues at the regional
and local level.Develop, revise, and implement quality standards
and quality policies which maintain high levels of customer
satisfaction and consistently meet the required business
standardsManage and lead the QMS implementation activities by
guiding cross-functional/ matrix resources across all regions,
crops, products, and traits. Coordinate global projects across
multiple quality managers, crops and regions to ensure achievement
of overall quality objectives and outcomesLiaise with other
managers and staff throughout the organization to ensure that the
quality system is functioning effectively and meeting
objectivesMonitor and advise on the performance of the quality
management system, produce data and report on performance and
compliance, measuring against set standards.Use risk-based
approaches to develop compliant and cost-effective quality
standards, measures and quality policies which maintain high levels
of customer satisfaction and consistently meet the required
business standardsLeadership / DevelopmentProvide global functional
leadership including selecting key personnel and motivating Seeds
quality professionals; challenging employees to develop as leaders
while serving as a role model and mentor; assisting with
performance calibration/ succession planning, individual goal
setting/ performance reviews, across crops and regions to ensure
achievement of the overall quality and performance management
objectives and outcomes.Continuous ImprovementEnsure continuous
improvement and optimization of processes; drive operational
excellence and lean processes globally.Create a culture of
continual improvement through the coordination of individual,
local, regional, functional, and global - audits, measures,
management reviews and other continual improvement
activities.CommunitiesAttend and represent the Seeds unique
business needs in AP global projects regarding product / material
quality initiatives, lead the development global process standards
across business units including Crop Protection, R&D, Seeds and
Biologicals, and provide strategic input to the selection of global
software tools to support quality when required.Attend and
represent the Seeds unique business needs in AP GQMT global
initiatives, objectives and focus areas.Assemble and lead cross
functional quality teams, as neededCo-chairing the GQMT and
support/lead of certain GQMT focus areas (beyond S&T
scope)Culture / CommunicationsEnsure the Seeds Supply LT is fully
apprised of KPIs and ongoing quality initiatives and opportunities
within seeds and improve awareness and understanding of Seeds
material / product quality systems through targeted communication
and training.Monitor and advise on the performance of global supply
processes, produce data and report on performance and compliance,
measuring against set standards.Coordinate data and report on
quality results and evaluate and escalate key quality issues.
(Utilizing the following software LIMS, SAP, Document Management,
Audit Management)Coordinate and support necessary training,
communication and change management methods internally to
facilitate the QMS implementation, adoption and culture.Formula for
SuccessMBA or BS/ MS Degree or equivalent in Industrial
Engineering, Process Controls, Supply Chain and/or operational
excellence Seeds Agricultural industry experience5+ years of
experience in Quality Management development and implementation
experience (ISO, Lean, Six Sigma) (0+ Years desirable)Desirable:
15+ years of experience managing and developing peopleDesirable:
10+ years of quality, ISO and / or related Lead Auditor
experience.In depth use of database systems for quality analysis,
reporting and design (SAP, LIMS, Document Mgt. Audit
Management)Strategic, methodical, logical and detail
orientedSkilled in achieving results and managing others to achieve
business and functional objectivesStrong supervisory, management
and networking capabilitiesFlexible and able to reduce
complexityAbility to interact with and gain the support of senior
