Job Description:

The Director, Finance will be responsible for leading Annual Budget, Monthly Reporting and Forecasting activities, monitoring progress and changes, and keeping senior leadership abreast of the organization's financial status. Key deliverables include the building and scaling of the financial reporting and analytical processes and simplifying them to ensure availability of usable business information for the Executive team to access through dashboard reporting and other executive management reporting. The Director, Finance provides financial justification and decision support for operational strategies and tactics, and metrics and analysis, which influence the profitability of the business and needs to be thoroughly proficient in analyzing data, producing logical scenario analyses and insights, producing accurate forecasts, and making sound recommendations to senior level executives. This position will lead a team of FP&A analysts that are responsible for providing business insight based on deep and thorough analysis of the company's financial and business data. This position is responsible for helping create the strategic vision for the finance team, identifying current gaps, developing the path forward and gaining alignment from the broader finance team. It also leads the subsequent planning and forecasting processes across the Institution.   • Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Accounting/Finance and 7 - 10 years of outstanding financial leadership skills and expertise with an emphasis on translating financial insights into operational recommendations, Forecasting, Financial Analytics, Budgeting and Financial Modeling
  • Highly developed financial and business analytical skills are required; to understand and interpret business results and plans, and to provide insights to improve business results.
  • Ability and willingness to be hands on and dive deep into the details
  • Excellent financial modeling, Excel, and PowerPoint skills
  • Expert in consolidating large and varied sets of financial data into concise business summaries
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills around detailed financial data
  • Ability to partner with leadership around strategic objectives
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills across all levels of an organization
  • Exceptional organizational skills, with a strong focus on team
  • Must enjoy a fast-moving and complex multi-product and multi-delivery environment

    • Lead annual budgeting and planning process and review all financial plans and budgets
    • Monitor progress and changes and keep the Senior Leadership Team abreast of the organization's financial status.
    • Provide insightful financial advice and analysis to the Senior Leadership Team members and their teams
    • Develop and improve automated processes to report and analyze revenues and costs and prepare monthly and quarterly analysis by customer, product/project and other dimensions as required
    • Translate and interpret financial results into operational recommendations to improve and accelerate the business
    • Drive initiatives to improve the flow of financial data, promote data integrity, and implement software solutions for budgeting/planning and sales compensation
    • Identify weaknesses and perform risk evaluations of Business Unit business plans and financial models
    • Financial model creation / maintenance and presentation
    • Demonstrate best in class business behaviors, collaborates with Finance team and business partners to achieve results. Acts as one team to ensure work is completed. Treats business partners as clients with a focus on returning phone calls and emails timely, setting up meetings to discuss critical topics, sharing processes before executing and allowing ample time to review draft documents.     • Serve as a conduit between the system office and UNH focusing on reporting, analysis and treasury related functions (i.e., cash management, etc. ).
