Job Description:

Duties: Responds to business questions using people data, advanced

analytics, and data science techniques and tools. Works with multiple

stakeholders to understand business challenges that can be resolved using

analytics, in order to define, interpret, and clarify the scope of

problems/issues identifying required data needs and analyses needed.

Performs complex data analysis enabling stakeholders to make informed

business decisions using Python, Hadoop, SQL, and R, and creates

visualizations in tools such as d3.js or Tableau.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Identifies and ingests new data sources (external/internal,

API/warehouses) and performs feature engineering for integration into

models.

• Performs predictive analytics, using traditional statistical or

machine learning techniques where applicable.

• Creates interactive data visualizations for senior leaders.

• Uses natural language processing to structure unstructured text

data, extract sentiment or topics.

• Provides technical leadership by helping to structure work,

planning new analyses, and translating business questions into analytical

projects.

• Performs both ad-hoc and in-depth analyses, and develops solutions

to help augment the HR function.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of

experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience performing

full-stack software development using Java, Python, SQL, and Javascript

within a financial services environment; Or, alternatively, a Master’s

degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a

closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered

or three (3) years of experience performing full-stack software development

using Java, Python, SQL, and Javascript within a financial services

environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)

designing and developing data pipelines, cleansing data, constructing

feature engineering routines, leveraging advanced transformation techniques

(from SQL, Hive, or Impala), Big Data, and performing natural language

processing to create data sets appropriate for statistical models and

machine learning; DE executing data science projects across multiple

computing environments and platforms (Linux, Windows, Oracle/SQL,

Greenplum/Postgres, and Hadoop/Hive); performing software development in a

large financial services environment, including programming in Python and

using data science libraries (NLTK, SciPy, Scikit-learn, NumPy, or Pandas)

to create feature engineering pipelines or build machine learning models;

DE applying software development best practices (source code management,

documentation, code reviews, frameworks, and dependencies); using project

management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, or Kanban) and technologies

(Atlassian Stack and Trello); and gathering and interpreting business and

stakeholder requirements for data science projects; DE using Neo4j to store

and analyze employee organizational network data, and creating custom

network visualizations using d3.js, Gephi, R, or Neo4j.
