Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Planning and Guidance
Technology team for Fidelity’s Personal Investment (PI) Technology group. Will be
responsible for project management and technical leadership of one or more
Agile delivery teams that consist of Product Owners, Business
Analysts, Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, and Quality Assurance Engineers
who are distributed both domestically and globally, and tasked with
designing, developing and maintaining customer-facing web-based
applications. Primary Responsibilities • Lead architecture, design and development of rich internet
online transaction processing J2EE applications using Service
Oriented Architecture. • Suggest story prioritization recommendations in an effort
to improve delivery efficiency. • Identify and manage dependencies across all internal and
external project teams. • Oversee and ensure the timeliness of feature/story
decomposition and grooming. • Project manage delivery scope in line with delivery
timelines. • Facilitate team in iteration planning, daily stand-ups,
and retrospectives. • Manage removal of blocking issues. • Identify, elevate, monitor and mitigate project risks. • Foster the implementation of process improvements/best
practices suggested by the team. • Report status and monitor team metrics (burn down, velocity,
break down of stories, and task definition). • Promote a self-directed team environment. • Provide technical leadership to other engineers on the
delivery team. • Help coordinate the delivery of components across
internal/external technical teams. • Work directly with business and technical partners in
designing, estimating and developing Planning & Guidance Center
functionality. Participation includes providing design proposals, providing UXD
feedback, functional/technical analysis, design, coding and testing. • Contribute to delivery process-improvement initiatives via the
use of the latest Lean/Agile architecture and delivery
techniques. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (willing to accept foreign
education equivalent as well as three-year foreign bachelor’s degree) in
Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information
Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and five (5)
years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
in architecture, design and development of rich internet J2EE
applications using Service Oriented Architecture; or, alternatively, a
Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,
Physics or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the
job offered or three (3) years of experience in architecture, design and
development of rich internet J2EE applications using Service Oriented
Architecture. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”)
developing rich internet online transaction processing applications using Java,
JSP, CSS, HTML, JavaScript, and JQuery; and performing backbone and unit
testing of J2EE applications using Spring Open source frameworks; DE
designing and developing data access layers consuming SOAP and RESTful
services, and creating RESTful services using Spring; DE leading distributed
application development teams within an onshore/offshore environment
according to Agile methodologies; DE project managing application development
initiatives including technical document design, impact analysis, resource
planning, scheduling, quality control, technical project direction, and
