Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Professional Services Group
Benefits Consulting Division to provide actuarial services and consulting
advice to clients regarding their benefit programs, including defined
benefits, defined contribution, and health and welfare plans. Assist with
the project management for multiple concurrent consulting assignments and
consult with clients to implement recommendations. Primary Responsibilities • Perform pension valuations, including ERISA, FASB ASC 715,
FASB ASC 960, cost and benefit design studies, non-discrimination
testing, and benefit statements. • Assess regulatory compliance. • Assist in the coordination of projects and budgeting. • Prepare reports for client presentations and
complete/review required compliance tasks (government forms and
non-discrimination testing). • Other projects include: performing analysis for cost and
benefit design studies, plan terminations and pension de-risking
projects. • Collaborate with internal business partners across diverse disciplines to develop and implement effective solutions on
behalf of our clients. • Train and assist analysts to ensure the continued development
of staff. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Mathematics, Actuarial Science, Actuarial Mathematics,
Statistics, Engineering or a closely related field and two (2) years of
experience in the job offered or two (2) years of experience in actuarial
consulting within a retirement or retirement consulting products and
services environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise
(“DE”) in Defined Benefit (DB) plan (qualified and non-qualified)
consulting, including performing ERISA and FASB actuarial valuations and
participant benefit calculations, completing non-discrimination testing
(incl. 410(b) Coverage Testing and 401(a)(4) Benefits Testing), and preparing
IRS Form 5500 and PBGC compliance filings using Microsoft Office Excel
with Visual Basic (VBA), Microsoft Access, and ProVal actuarial valuation
software; DE in Defined Contribution (DC) plan consulting, including
performing plan design analysis (DC costing and nondiscrimination projections)
for 401(k), 403(b) and non-qualified DC plans, calculating annual employer
match and profit sharing amounts, and completing non-discrimination
testing (410(b) Coverage Testing, ADP/ACP Testing and 401(a)(4) Benefits
Testing); DE performing actuarial analysis -- quantitative analysis of
financial and employee census data -- for DB and DC plans, including reviewing
and interpreting plan document provisions; DE supporting development
of benefits websites, including process mapping, and development of
