Duties: Serve as a member of the Advanced Analytics Team for Fidelity’s

Personal Investment (PI) Technology group. The Advanced Analytics team is

responsible for supporting new and enhanced Big Data advanced customer

analytics product technologies. Primary focus areas include: supporting new

Big Data warehouse environments, delivery of model ready data layer

capabilities, delivery of advanced customer behavior modeling analytics,

and SAS-HPA (high-performance analytics) software development. Will be

responsible for executing high quality support of projects delivered by the

Advanced Analytics Environment (AAE) team and working directly with both

technical and business stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities

• Support batch processing and general issue resolution within a

Control M, Oracle, or a MPP postgres variant (Greenplum or Informix).

• Perform software development of batch applications.

• Develop first and second level batch jobs processes.

• Design and customize batch jobs based on user requirements.

• Perform database operations.

• Support daily loads and work with business users to handle failed

batch jobs.

• Provide production support.

• Perform enhancement on batch jobs, and tune batch jobs for better

performance.

• Develop UNIX shell scripts for automation of daily batch runs.

• Design new Control-M workflow to schedule batch jobs to run the

daily, weekly and monthly jobs.

• Create and maintain Greenplum databases, users, tables, views and

functions.

• Perform batch jobs workflow review with offshore teams.

• Prepare quality control reports to validate data quality in a

scoring and modeling environment.

• Perform production release management and coordinate production

performance reporting.

• Perform SQL tuning, SAS development and/or Hadoop development, as

required.

• Fine-tune and test existing Big Data systems to ensure data quality.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and three (3) years of

experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience in

production support of batch database application development; or,

alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,

Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and one (1) year of

experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in production

support of batch database application development. Candidate must also

possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in design and development of batch

applications based on business user requirements, including tuning PL/SQL

batch jobs for enhanced performance, developing UNIX/Linux shell scripts

for automation of daily batch runs, and tuning and testing existing batch

applications; DE performing database operations administration --

maintaining tables, views, functions and triggers -- within an Oracle and

Informix environment; and conducting data analysis, including writing SQL

queries for data extraction within an Oracle and PostgreSQL environment; DE

providing production support for batch applications, including coordinating

performance production reporting, and performing production release

management and issue resolution, and performing Shell and Perl scripting

for code release using CVS or Clear Case, installing applications, and

debugging and installing application servers within a UNIX and Linux

environment; DE designing Control-M workflow to schedule batch jobs to run

the daily, weekly and monthly jobs and reviewing batch system modifications

developed within an onshore/offshore environment according to Waterfall and

Agile methodologies.
