Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Performance Testing and
Engineering Team within Fidelity Investment's Fidelity Institutional Technology
(FIT) division. The Performance Testing and Engineering team is
responsible for designing, testing, and monitoring high performing financial
service products. Will be responsible for testing multi-tiered
distributed applications. Primary Responsibilities • Develop test strategies using project artifacts and conducting
in- depth interviews with architects and development leads. • Create or modify performance scripts for Web based
applications using HP LoadRunner with the Web and Web Services protocols. • Execute performance tests on applications to assure capacity
and stability, and to ensure that applications meet requirements for
production deployment. • Monitor impacted systems for network connection disruptions
and to identify any obscure application behavior resulting from a
network anomaly. • Measure resource consumption of components, processes and
latency at measurable points in the systems under test. • Identify application bottlenecks and assist engineers with improving application performance and reducing latency. • Communicate performance testing results and identify areas
for improvement with stakeholders at all levels. • Coordinate project deliverables and drive delivery of
performance output with project managers, developers, and peers. • Provide interim and finalized reports to senior
management. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
in performance test engineering of brokerage, trading and
financial applications; or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign
education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related
field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of
experience in performance test engineering of brokerage, trading and
financial applications. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated
Expertise (“DE”) writing performance and capacity test plans and strategies for
client server applications, including performance tests on applications
to assure capacity and stability, measurement of resource consumption of
components, processes, and latency; and developing reports to summarize test
results for senior management; DE writing C performance scripts in
LoadRunner Vugen to run on LoadRunner Controller using HTTP, Web Services and
Oracle (2-Tier) protocols for large financial and trading applications;
DE in hardware performance analysis within a Linux/Unix environment,
including writing custom Shell and PERL scripts for performance monitoring
using SiteScope; DE in user experience testing and analysis for
performance tuning of brokerage, trading and financial applications using
Dynatrace and Splunk; and performance tuning for IBM WebSphere Application
