Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Workplace Investing (WI)
Platform Technology group within Fidelity Investments. The WI Platform
Technology group is responsible for the development and maintenance of
technology solutions supporting Fidelity's Defined Contribution (DC)
business. Will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of
Fidelity's DC plan administration record keeping services platform. Will
participate in all phases of a project lifecycle, with a focus on business
requirements and current state analysis, technology solution (functional)
definition, partnering with QA in test case preparation, and data review and
data mining. The role demands collaboration with members of various
business and IT groups throughout the life cycle of a project. Will
facilitate business requirement sessions with business partners, and work within the
technology organization to assist in technology project delivery. Primary Responsibilities: • Gather and document system requirements (i.e. system design,
UI screens, etc.) from stated business requirements and obtain
agreement with business partners that stated requirements will meet overall
business objectives. • Participate in business requirements and design sessions for
a specific component of scope within a release. • Translate business needs into functional requirements to
support process, organization and technology change. • Detect scope changes and escalate issues. • Work with QA and the business on test scenarios. • Work with business partners and technology team to define, coordinate and execute User Acceptance Testing (UAT). • Recommend changes to existing systems design to achieve requirements. • Follow documentation standards and best practices. • Maintain objectives, requirements, use cases and
specifications. • Participate in project scoping, sizing and estimating. • Maintain trusted relationships with business partners. • Be highly productive in an Waterfall (FSDM) or Agile
project delivery environment. • Assist in obtaining business and technology sign-off on
readiness / criteria associated with transitioning to a production
state. • Create and drive project plans. • Identify inefficiencies, conflicting business practices
and integration issues and suggest alternative solutions. • May mentor junior team members. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered, or three (3) years of experience
in systems analysis and design of defined contribution contract management
systems and customer relationship management systems; or, alternatively, a
Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,
Physics or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job
offered or one (1) year of experience in systems analysis and design of
defined contribution contract management systems and customer
relationship management systems. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated
Expertise (“DE”) applying Waterfall or Agile methodologies to conduct
release and iteration planning, backlog grooming daily standups, and
retrospectives for multiple tracks within a project; DE conducting detailed data
analysis, including writing complex SQL queries for data extraction and
modeling using SQL Developer or Rapid SQL, and data analysis and
reporting using Hyperion and Excel within an Oracle, Sybase and SQL Server
environment; DE in requirements gathering, specification design, functional
prototyping, -- wireframes and mock-ups -- using Snagit and Visio -- to meet use
cases, and mapping current and future state processes using Blueworks Live;
and DE analyzing and designing defined contribution contract management
