Job Description:
Serve as the Planning and Guidance Technology Director of
Architecture with the Strategic Investment Products and Data (SIPD) organization.
SIPD is a shared technology services organization within Enterprise
Technology. SIPD manages and supports Planning and Guidance tools, Managed
Accounts offerings, and Integrated Data Solutions across multiple
Fidelity companies. As Director, will create and maintain architecture
plans and specifications for applications supporting the Fidelity Planning
and Guidance Product Line, and guide project and program level
decisions to ensure alignment with the Fidelity Enterprise Technology
architecture strategy. This person will take a lead role in building common
tools for applications for NetBenefits and Fidelity.com. Primary Responsibilities: • Provide architecture leadership for Planning and Guidance
product delivery. • Participate in all aspects of Planning and Guidance
product innovation. • Develop and assess technical solutions for the Planning
and Guidance product line. • Establish, implement, and enforce appropriate architecture standards in the creation and implementation of the technical
solution. • Ensure delivery teams are following engineering best
practices. • Assess and explain the present and future rationale of
architecture decisions. • Mediate opposing viewpoints and negotiate equitable solutions
to ensure successful and stable outcomes for the Planning and
Guidance product space. • Contribute to multi-year technical roadmap, blueprints and reference architecture plans for the Planning & Guidance product
line. • Support and communicate relevant IT Governance policy,
procedures and processes. • Provide strategic architecture guidance in support of
project delivery estimates. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and six (6) years of experience in the
job offered or six (6) years of experience developing client/server
applications within a J2EE/Oracle environment; or, alternatively, a Master’s degree
(or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering,
Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics or Physics and four
(4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience
developing client/server applications within a J2EE/Oracle environment.
Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing
applications for account aggregation within a financial services environment;
DE implementing web services within Websphere and Tomcat
environments using SOAP and Rest Services, and implementing rich user interfaces
using J2EE, JQuery, Angular, Flex and Ajax; DE architecting solutions and
online transaction processing applications for investment advisor
and correspondent financial services; and architecting solutions
and functionality for online retirement products planning and
guidance tools within a retail financial services environment; and DE
coordinating the architecture and development activities of an onshore/offshore
