Job Description:

Duties: Will leverage business knowledge to translate the vision for

divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex

software applications for the Defined Contribution (DC) Business Services

team. Will provide application design, development and support services for

DC software solutions, providing services through multiple channels -- Call

Center Workstation, NextGen FocusPoint (desktop application) for WPS Phone

representatives/Back-Office users, TellMe (IVR application), NetBenefits

(web application) and Plan Sponsor's Workstation Application. Will provide

technical leadership for the development and maintenance of Defined

Contribution transaction processing applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Define and implement application level architecture, including

performance, security, changeability, reliability and user experience.

• Develop original and creative technical solutions for on-going

development efforts.

• Determine development approaches and strategies and ensure

conformance to established Fidelity standards.

• Support implementation of moderate-scope projects and major

initiatives.

• Define and ensure compliance to standards and best practices.

• Conduct studies of alternatives, and analyze and recommend changes

in application level architecture development, procedures, standards and

strategies.

• Advise internally on risk assessment and strategies.

• Coordinate application production support efforts between the

onshore and offshore teams.

• Support all phases of testing leading to implementation.

• Conduct code reviews.

• Lead application support efforts, coordinating and providing

application support for web-based applications that utilize managed content.

• Create detailed system requirements and functional designs.

• Provide guidance and training to enable more junior team members to

meet/exceed expectations, and plan and coordinate project schedules.

• Actively collaborate with other technical leaders on the team to

develop, deploy and monitor team-wide project and technical standards and

best practices.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in

Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering, Information

Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related

field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years

of experience developing Defined Contribution transaction processing

applications; or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education

equivalent) in Computer Science, Computer Applications, Engineering,

Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a

closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered

or three (3) years of experience developing Defined Contribution

transaction processing applications. Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) developing C# and C++ applications using ATL

COM and .NET frameworks; DE in the development of mission critical

enterprise-wide real time and non-real time transaction processing

applications within a Defined Contribution or retirement services

environment, using Waterfall and Agile development methodologies; DE

leading and mentoring an onshore/offshore team of software developers and

support engineers; and DE troubleshooting business critical and real-time

production issues related to workplace investment and Defined Contribution

applications using DebugDiag, Parasoft SOA, SMS Installer and Visual

Studio.
