Job Description:
Duties: Serve as a member of the Performance Team within
Fidelity’s Personal & Workplace Investing (PWI) organization. Will work
with Developers and Architects to design end-to-end performance test
scenarios. Primary Responsibilities: • Design end-to-end performance test scenarios and identify
business critical transactions for characterization of application
performance. • Develop, schedule and execute load tests using various load
test tools. • Monitor and analyze performance metrics and application
logs. • Triage defects with development partners and project
management teams. • Work with application architects to identify performance bottlenecks and make tuning recommendations. • Prepare and effectively communicate performance results to
Director- level management and provide signoffs for production
install. • Ensure timely escalation of critical issues to the
development, project and performance engineering teams. • Work with management to estimate/forecast effort required
for future development projects. • Coordinate activities of offshore engineers as/when
required. • Lead integrated performance programs spanning multiple
product areas. • Mentor junior engineers. • Contribute to the development and implementation of the new
DevOps testing strategy. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
in performance engineering of high volume online financial systems;
or, alternatively, a Master’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or closely related field and one (1) year
of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience in
performance engineering of high volume online financial systems. Candidate
must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (“DE”) in software
performance benchmarking of online financial transactions using HP Load
Runner and Performance Center; DE creating work load models utilizing
production arrival statistics, application peak usage data, and
multi-quarter business growth projections; DE monitoring Websphere application servers,
Oracle and DB2 database systems and operating system performance using
shell scripting and SiteScope to identify bottlenecks and make corrective
recommendations to the Development team; DE leading enterprise-wide
performance characterization initiatives, including coordinating
