Job Description:
Duties: Will serve as a member of the Database Administration
Support Team within Fidelity Institutional Technology (FIT) to support
databases and the related development teams. Will take part in development efforts
and provide production monitoring and support. Will perform database
design, support application releases, maintain open dialogue with the
application teams, and plan database infrastructure projects. Primary Responsibilities: • Perform application database administration functions
including SQL tuning, database application design, physical data modeling, and
developer support. • Monitor Oracle and SQL Server databases and respond to
alerts. • Configure and maintain Oracle and SQL Server. • Interface with Enterprise Operations Database group,
Systems Administrators and Capacity Planning groups. • Perform project management functions, including project coordination and planning across multiple projects and across
onshore and offshore teams. • Coordinate Disaster Recovery (DR) strategy and support routine
DR testing. • Coordinate and support Replication for Oracle and SQL
Server systems. • Work with development teams in database design process and
provide recommendations based on data needs of the application. • Support ETL development and troubleshooting; and deploy
database, ETL and configuration changes through environments. • Provide database support in all phases of SDLC. • Establish database standards for operations, upgrades,
migrations and on-boarding new applications and/or clients. • Participate in on call rotation schedule for various
production support, database maintenance, housekeeping and installs. • Write technical documentation to maintain standards and
procedures. • Evaluate and recommend software products in database
management arena. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology,
Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics or a closely related field and three (3)
years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience
in Oracle and Microsoft SQL server database administration in a mission
critical database production support environment; or, alternatively, a
Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science,
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics,
Physics or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job
offered or one (1) year of experience in Oracle and Microsoft SQL server
database administration in a mission critical database production
support environment. Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise
(“DE”) in Oracle RAC database administration across multiple platforms --
AIX, Solaris, Linux and Exadata servers; DE setting up, installing
and managing Oracle replication technologies -- Oracle GoldenGate and Oracle
Dataguard; and performing Automatic Storage Management/Replication using
Oracle ASM; DE in performance tuning using Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid
control (OEM 12c), UNIX shell scripting; and writing database monitoring jobs
in PL/SQL; DE in Microsoft SQL server database mirroring and Log shipping
technologies to set up parallel replicated database or disaster recovery
