Job Description:

Designs and architects sophisticated solutions on NoSQL platforms dedicated to high-scale processing of large amounts of data. Rapidly deploys changes to customers while minimizing risk, using A/B tests, blue green deployments feature toggles, and Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices -- Maven, Jenkins, and Docker. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Participates in architecture design teams.

Defines and implements application level architecture.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Recommends development testing tools and methodologies and reviews and validates test plans.

Responsible for QA readiness of software deliverables.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications or subsystems.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Responsible for meeting project goals on-time and on-budget.

Advises on risk assessment and risk management strategies for projects.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and technical evaluation estimates on technology initiatives.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several divisional initiatives.

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience performing software application development, maintenance, and migration from mainframe platforms in a financial services environment.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience performing software application development, maintenance, and migration from mainframe platforms in a financial services environment.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) maintaining and supporting end-to-end enterprise applications, using COBOL, CICS, DB2, SQL, VSAM, and CICS; and modernizing enterprise applications for retail customer card processing and transaction workflows, using Java/J2EE on Amazon Web Services (AWS) and C2C Cloud based distributed platforms.

DE developing and maintaining highly reliable, secured, and performant enterprise mainframe applications using IBM tools -- IDE/Tools IBM Rational Application Developer (RDZ), ENDEAVOR, DFSORT, CICS Web Services, Service Oriented Architecture (SOA), Stored Procedures, FILE-AID for DB2, and MVS.

DE architecting, developing, and supporting distributed applications in Java/J2EE, JDBC, Hibernate, Jersey Framework, JAX-RS, HK2, Restful WebServices, Dropwizard framework, SOAP/REST, OpenAPI, Swagger, API, and databases -- DynamoDB, RDS, DB2, Oracle; and supporting job flows on schedulers -- Control M.

DE implementing Continuous Delivery (CD) pipelines to optimize deployment cycle times for software artifacts to rapidly deploy changes, using Blue/Green deployments and feature toggles; and implementing Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, using Jenkins, Docker, and uDeploy.
