Job Description:

Designs and develops software applications, and automation and specialized utility solutions using Cloud infrastructure solutions -- Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) Security, Management, Storage, Networking, Object Storage Service (OSS) Containers, and Infra as a Code technologies. Performs hands-on coding, using object-oriented programming and scripting languages and Cloud application development solutions -- Platform as a Service (PaaS), Serverless, and API Management. Uses business knowledge to translate the vision for divisional initiatives into business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications and conducting studies of alternatives. Analyzes and recommends changes in project development policies, procedures, standards, and strategies to development experts and management.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops software applications while working within coordinated development environments targeting public Cloud.

Analyzes user needs and develops software solutions.

Develops applications on complex projects, components, and subsystems for the division.

Establishes full project life cycle plans for complex projects across multiple platforms.

Optimizes operational efficiency by designing and customizing software for client use.

Modifies existing software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware or improve performance.

Establishes feasibility of design within time and cost constraints by analyzing user needs and software requirements.

Collaborates on the design system to obtain information on project limitations and capabilities, performance requirements and interfaces.

Develops and oversees software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.

Analyzes, recommends, and performs software upgrades, security patches, and bug fixes to maintain applications and platform systems compliance.

Plans and coordinates project schedules and assignments for multiple projects.

Provides technology solutions to daily issues and estimates technical evaluation requirements for technology initiatives.

Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various project/technology issues.

Advises senior management on technical strategy.

Mentors junior team members.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience developing Web, middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience developing Web, middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) developing Web, middleware, and Cloud applications targeting Windows, Linux platforms, and public Cloud services (Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS), using C#, ASP.NET, PowerShell, and SQL Server; architecting and developing enterprise software applications and automation solutions using Cloud application development solutions -- IaaS, PaaS, and Serverless including, Azure Functions, Logic Apps, Azure SQL, Service Bus and Azure Storage with a focus on stability, security, scalability, and performance.

DE designing and developing Web and middleware applications, and Restful APIs within large-scale enterprise systems according to Agile software development methodologies, using C#, ASP.NET, PowerShell, and GIT with a focus on stability, security, scalability and performance.

DE designing and developing Azure DevOps and Jenkins pipelines for periodic maintenance of Cloud solutions based in Azure; developing platform automation, using PowerShell, YAML, and JSON; performing automation, using Infra as Code technologies -- Terraform, ARM templates, and telemetry tools (Azure AppInsights); and performing monthly releases for upgrades, using AzureDevOps, Jenkins, and PowerShell.

DE designing and developing databases targeting SQL and NoSQL databases -- SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure Cosmos.
