Job Description:

Crafts, builds, and deploys applications in a DevOps environment using Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) tools Git/Bitbucket Server (Stash), Jenkins, and uDeploy. Develops conceptual application designs that comply with technical architecture standards using Server-Side applications -- Java, J2EE, Spring Boot, Camel, Swagger, Docker, JSP/JSTL, Serverlets, JAXB, JAX-WS, SQL, Junit, and Tomact. Implements application level architecture, using Continuous Integration (CI), static code analysis, and Test Driven Development (TDD). Provides business solutions by developing complex or multiple software applications.

Primary Responsibilities:

Develops original and creative technical solutions to on-going development efforts.

Designs applications or subsystems on major projects and for/in multiple platforms.

Develops applications for multiple features supporting several divisional initiatives.

Supports and performs all phases of testing leading to implementation.

Assists in the planning and conducting of user acceptance testing.

Develops comprehensive documentation for multiple applications supporting several corporate initiatives.

Responsible for post-installation analysis, resolution, and testing of any problems.

Establishes project development plans and estimates for initiatives of moderate scope.

Works on complex assignments and often multiple phases of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).

Performs independent and complex technical and functional analysis for multiple projects supporting several initiatives.

Education and Experience:

Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered or three (3) years of experience designing and developing Java based Web applications in a service oriented architecture.

Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Applied Computer Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or one (1) year of experience designing and developing Java based Web applications in a service oriented architecture.

Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

Demonstrated Expertise (DE) developing enterprise J2EE applications, using Spring, Struts frameworks, and MQ JMS; and ensuring application security and removing security vulnerabilities by applying Web security principles (XSS/CSRF) and using secure code scanning tools (Fortify/Veracode).

DE designing and developing responsive Web MVC applications, using JavaScript MVC frameworks (AngularJS and Angular), client-side technologies (HTML5, CSS, Jasmine, and Karma), content management systems (SDL Tridion), server-side technologies (Node.js), and Web security technologies (OAuth and SAML) within the financial services industry.

DE applying DevOps principles throughout the software development life cycle (SDLC) -- performing continuous integration (using Jenkins), continuous deployments (using IBM uDeploy), and code scan (using Sonar) for Web applications; and identifying performance bottlenecks and providing solution improvements for Web applications using Jprofiler.

DE developing REST micro services, using Spring, Hibernate, and Swagger; writing PL/SQL stored procedures to interact with RDBMS databases; and building an enterprise caching layer using Redis for performance optimization.
