Job Description:
Architects, designs, builds, and support enterprise-level
on-premise and public Cloud solutions. Designs and develops future
state Enterprise Cloud Architectures and roadmaps, in line with
multiple business unit partner. Builds container-based systems,
using architecture, implementation, and management orchestration
platforms -- Kubernetes and Rancher. Implements automated test
suites and self-service capabilities for platforms to ensure
efficient and successful application deployments, upgrades,
releases, infrastructure re-hydration, and support. Builds logging
and observability solutions for Cloud platforms in compliance with
security and audit teams. Monitors and troubleshoots
applications. Primary Responsibilities: Designs, builds, and maintains on and off-premise solutions
allowing development teams to successfully host applications. Delivers, utilizes, and supports Cloud technologies, using
callable and resilient architectures. Collaborates internally to define required IT management
operational procedures as applications migrate to Cloud. Works with the development community to gather requirements and
adapt/improve on-premise solutions. Confers with Systems Analysts, Software Engineers, and other
Cloud Technologists to design systems and to obtain information on
project limitations and capabilities, and performance requirements
and interfaces. Delivers business results and customer value by ensuring a
stable, performant CaaS platform for application hosting. Troubleshoots problems and difficulties within application
hosting and onboarding. Supports environments on an as-needed basis. Develops new ways to monitor and resolve problems that ensure
the stability of hosted applications. Provides input on improving or automating existing
processes. Develops and oversees software system testing and validation
procedures, programming, and documentation. Participates in weekly on-call rotations and responds to
incidents and critical customer requests. Reviews existing capabilities, and simplifies and modernizes
them to improve applications time to market. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
architecting and supporting Kubernetes platform services in hybrid
Cloud environments. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years of experience architecting and supporting
Kubernetes platform services in hybrid Cloud environments. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) architecting, designing, and
engineering public and private Cloud-based platforms built on
Docker, Native Kubernetes, Rancher Kubernetes Services (RKS), and
Amazon Elastic Kubernetes Service (EKS); assessing, reviewing, and
developing new features on Kubernetes platforms by obtaining and
assessing business requirements from large scale business units;
and designing and executing migration strategies for applications
from legacy platforms to on-premise and Public Kubernetes clusters
at the enterprise-level. DE creating Kubernetes orchestration solutions designed to
automate deploy, scale, and operate containerized micro-service
applications, using Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher; building,
deploying, and managing Rancher 1.x and 2.x Kubernetes Clusters;
performing Kubernetes Clusters and underlying infrastructure
re-hydrations, using Docker, Kubernetes, and Rancher; and
implementing enterprise level Kubernetes logging and observability
solutions, using FluentD, Fluentbit, Kafka, Datadog, Splunk, and
ELK Elastic Search. DE automating Rancher 1.6 and 2.x Kubernetes Cluster buildouts,
upgrades, and bug fixes in development, non-production, and
production environments, using Shell/Bash, Python, Jenkins, and
UDeploy; creating, updating, and deleting application load
balancers, using AVI and F5 APIs; implementing self-service
Kubernetes upgrades; building pipelines to develop, deploy, and
support Kubernetes Cloud platform applications, using Continuous
Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) tools and scripting
languages -- Jenkins, Git Stash, IBM Urban Code Deploy, Bash,
Python, and Go Lang. DE deploying, updating, and maintaining monitoring solutions for
on-premise and public Cloud environments, using Instana, Datadog,
Prometheus, and Kube State Metrics; performing incident and change
managements using Service Now; implementing and managing
uninterrupted application upgrades, bug fixes, and patches; and
managing end-to-end documentation of future application support
processes through design to delivery, using Microsoft OneNote,
