Job Description:
Architects and designs effective, efficient, and resilient
solutions for complex business problems, using Amazon Web Services
(AWS) and Azure. Works closely with business partners and
technology teams to execute business objectives and define
appropriate architecture direction within an Agile environment.
Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide
business unit-wide solutions. Designs, develops, and modifies
complex and major software systems to predict and measure outcome
and consequences of designs, using scientific analysis and
mathematical models. Develops and directs software system testing
and validation procedures, programming, and documentation. Primary Responsibilities: Translates and incorporates business vision and strategy to
architectural strategy recommendations at the functional level. Participates in high-level, cross- functional architecture
design teams. Consults on development and delivery of major technology
initiatives for the business unit. Consults on the deployment of major project deliverables. Consults on the documentation of major technology
application. Oversees the technical implementation of cross-divisional or
company architectural components. Initiates and drives project or strategy discussions with users
or external groups to resolve issues. Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization, and
plans and leads organization-wide initiatives. Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to
multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex
organization-wide projects. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Provides guidance, training, and coaching to team members for
performance and career development. Identifies and plans for future resource needs. Determines technical approaches at a strategic level for the
business unit Establishes the strategic direction of the team to promote the
digital transformation of the business. Ensures full technology solutions are implemented by systems
partners. Sets standards and selects technologies across the
organization. Assesses and ensures proposed solutions to specific initiatives
align with broader team goals and strategies. Presents proposals to senior leadership to acquire approval for
initiatives. Represents the team in cross-business unit initiatives. Articulates and owns architecture solution options to product
owners and architecture leadership. Collaborates with IT and Business partners and project teams to
deliver AIPs, drive issue resolution, wellness plans, and product
roadmaps. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years
of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience
designing and architecting Defined Contribution (DC) contract
management and recordkeeping systems. Or, alternatively, Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered
or four (4) years of experience designing and architecting Defined
Contribution (DC) contract management and recordkeeping
systems. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing and programming
communication interfaces according to SOAP, REST, and messaging
patterns, using Java, .Net, C++ and PL/SQL; and integrating
application components to a contract management system, using XML,
JSON, SOAP Web Services, REST API, and COM. DE designing and architecting contract management systems and
applications supporting the generation and management of DC legal
documents -- disclosures, notices, forms, and system setup
procedure documentation -- using .NET, C#, Java, JSON, REST
Services, Documentum, and Oracle PL/SQL. DE designing and architecting DC recordkeeping systems and
applications supporting DC plans -- 401k deferrals, Roth, annual
increase programs, automatic advance and enrollment, unwind,
rollovers, distribution, and loans and withdrawals -- using C++,
COM, ASP, ASP.NET, C#, Java, Oracle PL/SQL, and REST Services. DE advising senior management on technology strategies for
distributed applications; providing architecture design decisions,
guidance, training, and coaching to teams who build resilient and
business critical transactional applications in a DC domain; and
providing technical leadership and hands on day-to-day solutions to
Agile development teams to ensure DC products comply with
