Job Description:
Provides architectural and technical subject matter expertise in
relational database deployments for Oracle. Researches, designs,
develops, and implements the common deployment pipeline automation
services for Oracle databases. Works collaboratively with cross
business unit Cloud application and development engineering
teams. Primary Responsibilities: Designs, codes, tests, and implements relational database
automation services. Codes prototypes for proof of concept and Cloud lab validation
of relational database technologies. Codes, tests, troubleshoots, resolves, monitors, and automates
test harnesses for relational database performance and
scalability. Implements relational database automation according to
standards, policies, and design patterns. Plans, defines, designs, and integrates relational database
usage patterns to ensure consistency of product development and
adoption across the firm. Provides technical guidance on the design, implementation, and
management of complex databases. Documents design, operational procedures, and standards for
highly complex/business-critical relational databases. Tests and implements new design features for general use. Defines and evaluates database maintenance tools and build
processes. Establishes performance tuning criteria and methods in
coordination with internal and external technical resources. Designs, evaluates, and performs highly complex database
performance and functionality testing. Establishes Agile development plans for complex projects. Acts as a primary liaison for business units to resolve various
project/technology issues. Provides technical evaluation estimates on technology
initiatives. Develops and maintains policies, procedures, and techniques to
minimize future incident occurrence. Defines security requirements and operational procedures to
ensure physical data protection and authorized network access to
databases and applications. Develops business cases to justify information security
architecture initiatives. Defines the scope of change and impact to other interfaces. Creates high level architecture design for the enterprise. Advises senior management on technical strategy. Mentors junior team members. Education and Experience: Bachelors degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer
Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems,
Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and five (5) years
of experience in the job offered or five (5) years of experience
administering Oracle databases on Oracle Linux, ZFS, and Exadata
platforms within the financial services industry. Or, alternatively, a Masters degree (or foreign education
equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information
Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely
related field and three (3) years of experience in the job offered
or three (3) years administering Oracle databases on Oracle Linux,
ZFS, and Exadata platforms within the financial services
industry. Skills and Knowledge: Candidate must also possess: Demonstrated Expertise (DE) designing and developing operational
and management relational database automation using Shell for
Oracle environments. DE implementing flexible architectures on Oracle, using Oracle
Universal Installer (OUI) and Oracle Database Configuration
Assistant (DBCA); configuring and installing Linux utilities, using
Redhat Package Manager (RPM) and Yellowdog Update Manager (YUM);
migrating and upgrading Oracle databases, using Oracle RMAN, Oracle
EXPDP/IMPDP, and Oracle Database Upgrade Assistant (DBUA); patching
databases using Oracle OPatch; administering user security, using
Oracle Native Auditing; and validating data consistency and
integrity, using Oracle DBverify and Oracle RMAN. DE performing database operation administration and management
-- maintaining tables, views, functions, and triggers -- within
Oracle (using SQL and PL/SQL); and conducting data analysis,
including writing SQL queries for data extraction and Shell scripts
for data protection of Oracle environments. DE performing database troubleshooting and tuning, using Oracle
Enterprise Manager (OEM) grid functionality, SQL plan management,
and performance management, SQLTrace, TKProf, and Statspack; and
implementing LogMiner and database auditing, including writing
